Itinerary Ausangate 7 Lakes Full-Day Tour

Cusco – Pacchanta – Ausangate 7 Lakes – Cusco

Hotel Pick-Up (4:30 a.m. – 5:00 a.m.)

Your adventure begins with an early morning pick-up from your hotel in Cusco between 4:30 and 5:00 a.m. Sit back and relax as we head into the breathtaking Andean highlands.


Drive to Pacchanta & Trailhead (Approx. 3–3.5 hours)

We travel through scenic mountain landscapes to the village of Pacchanta, the starting point of our hike. Upon arrival, enjoy a hearty local breakfast to prepare for the trek.


Hike to the First Lake (Approx. 1.5 hours uphill)

After breakfast, we begin a guided hike with a gradual uphill ascent of about 1.5 hours, reaching the first glacial lake—a spectacular introduction to the natural beauty of the Ausangate region.


Explore the Seven Lakes (Mostly flat & downhill terrain)

From the first lake, the route continues along mostly flat or downhill trails, allowing for a comfortable and rewarding exploration of the remaining six lakes. Take time to admire panoramic views of Ausangate Mountain, capture unforgettable photos, and learn about local legends, glaciers, and Andean culture from your guide.


Lunch & Thermal Baths with Mountain Views

After completing the hike, enjoy a delicious lunch followed by time to relax in natural hot springs, all while soaking in incredible views of Ausangate—an ideal way to unwind after the trek.


Return to Cusco (Approx. 3 hours)

We begin our return journey to Cusco, arriving at approximately 7:00 p.m., bringing an unforgettable day in the heart of the Peruvian Andes to a close.

Health & Safety

  • This tour is not suitable for travelers with heart problems or serious medical conditions.

  • Not recommended for pregnant travelers.

  • Travelers should have at least a moderate level of physical fitness.

  • Minimum age: 8 years old.

  • Travelers over 60 years old should only participate if they have previous hiking experience at altitudes above 4,000 meters (13,100 ft).

  • This tour is not wheelchair accessible.

  • The tour operates in all weather conditions, so please dress accordingly.

  • Due to the high altitude, temperatures can drop close to freezing, especially in the early morning.

  • Taking photos with locals and their llamas is welcome.

  • In such cases, you will receive a full refund.

  • Partial Refund: Cancel between 24 hours and 7:00 PM the day before the tour—only the deposit is non-refundable.

  • No Refund: Cancel after 7:00 PM the day before the tour.
